Deriving from the Anglo-Saxon word Bēamford (‘tree-trunk ford’) and the Middle English ‘Steele’ (a surname for metal workers), at Bamford & Steele we love to captivate our customers with the same level of originality.
Our name’s etymology represents the fusion of natural elements and traditional craftsmanship. Striking the balance between old trades and new concepts, we demonstrate this knowledge through our intimate familiarity with the characteristics of our materials.
Following in his uncle’s footsteps, Paul became a welder and fabricator. With over two decades of hands-on experience, Paul has become an expert in his trade. But despite his mastery of welding and fabricating, Paul desired more freedom to create.
Bursting at the seams with ingenuity, Paul’s artistic mind was being stifled by the monotony of traditional welding jobs.
Enter Bamford & Steele- an epiphany moment fuelled by a dream for creative freedom. From welding elegant gates to fabricating display-worthy furniture, the evolution of Paul’s talents and his ideas for luxury industrial furniture found a boundless home in Bamford & Steele.
With decades of knowledge of the workings of a diverse range of materials, nothing is unachievable for Paul. Whether you want to create a showstopping bed from a fusion of uncommon materials, or a sleek yet sophisticated desk from steel and oak, Paul can tastefully balance form and function. With an extended level three diploma in computing, Bailey is a whizz at translating concepts into visual reality- the perfect complement to Paul’s traditional furniture fabrication skills.
Having honed his skills over the years, Bailey now works full-time alongside Paul at Bamford & Steele and is an integral part of the business. Armed with passion and digital artistic knowledge, Bailey brings your furniture to life through modern 3D digital renderings that allow you to have a preview of your piece before Paul has created it. With his spirited nature, Bailey loves to impress our customers with the level of detail he puts into the digital models.
This cutting-edge approach is what makes us stand out. Not only does Bailey’s work enhance our customer’s experience, but it also allows for additional customisation before the construction process begins.
